Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee Welcomes New Board Members

NASHVILLE, TENN. – February 23, 2021 – Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee, a Nashville-based non-profit dedicated to providing support, education, and hope to anyone impacted by cancer, including family and friends of those diagnosed, recently welcomed five new members to its Board of Directors.

“We are fortunate to have a team of passionate, dedicated, and talented community leaders committed to furthering Gilda’s Club’s mission,” said President and CEO Harriet Schiftan, MSW, MAJCS. “Janet, David, Drew, Jennifer, and Kathy are welcome additions. We look forward to finding ways to channel their expertise and energy to help us better serve Middle Tennessee’s cancer community.”

Joining the Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee Board as of January 1 are:

  • Janet Kurtz, President, Kurtz Hospitality Marketing
  • David Lewis, Chief Legal Officer, Zander Insurance
  • Drew Mallory, Managing Director, Truxton Trust Wealth Management Services
  • Jennifer McGugin, Division Counsel, Office of Legal Affairs, VUMC
  • Kathy Winn, Vice President, Strategic Marketing, LifePoint Health

Janet Kurtz is Founder of Kurtz Hospitality Marketing, which works with hotel, restaurant, and travel industry clients in a variety of markets. Previously, she served 13 years as Director of Sales and Marketing for the 5-star-rated Hermitage Hotel. Janet was also a member of the Board of Directors of Nashville Wine Auction of which Gilda’s Club is a beneficiary. A native of Dresden, Ohio, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Evansville.

David Lewis is Chief Legal Officer at Zander Insurance. He received his Juris Doctorate from Tulane University and holds a bachelor’s degree from Rhodes College. An AV-rated Martindale-Hubbell attorney, as well as a member of the Nashville Bar and Tennessee Bar associations, David is an experienced non-profit leader, who has served on several boards.

Drew Mallory is Managing Director, Wealth Management Services, at Truxton Trust. He brings expertise in investment management, comprehensive wealth management, and relationship management. A Nashville-area resident since 2016, Drew holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Kennesaw State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Georgia. In addition, he is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA Institute).

Jennifer McGugin is Division Counsel at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. A seasoned healthcare attorney, she specializes in transactional matters and general regulatory issues. Jennifer is a native of Nashville, who earned her Juris Doctorate at Vanderbilt Law School and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan.

Kathy Winn has lived in Nashville for six years and serves as Vice President of Strategic Marketing at LifePoint Health. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Western Governors University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeast Missouri State University. Kathy’s areas of expertise include strategic marketing, strategic planning, and data-driven engagement.
