Studies show what we see every day at Gilda’s Club: art and creative expression can profoundly improve the emotional and mental well-being of people facing cancer. Expressive arts foster a sense of control, encourages self-expression, and builds community, key factors in improving emotional resilience.
That’s why Expressive Arts are a core part of our Social Connectivity programming. In 2024–2025, we offered more than 144 Expressive Arts workshops—each designed to spark joy, create community, and provide a supportive space for self-expression.
Thanks to generous supporters like you, our members have taken part in programs such as:
• Jewelry Making
• Acrylic Pouring
• Clay Day
• Therapeutic Drum Circle
• Valentine’s Day Flower Arranging
• Tough Friends Art Club for Young Adults
These workshops are led by talented local artists and instructors—many of whom have a personal connection to Gilda’s Club or their own cancer experience.
We also invite you to watch a brief video from Tambrea (and others!), an art instructor and active participant in our programs, reflecting on the impact of creating together at Gilda’s Club.
This Giving Tuesday, your support can bring these powerful experiences to even more individuals and families facing cancer.
Your gift ensures that all of our programs remain completely free of charge to anyone who needs them.
Thank you for helping us create a community where no one faces cancer alone.
