Search Underway for Permanent Leader
Good news! On behalf of our Board of Directors, I am excited to announce that longtime Gilda’s Club friend, volunteer and donor Denise Alper will serve as our Interim President and CEO. Denise knows Gilda’s very well, having served on our Board since 2016. An enthusiastic, committed advocate for our cancer support community, Denise is a highly respected non-profit professional. In various roles, she has admirably served organizations like Alive Hospice, The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, The Women’s Fund, Leadership Nashville and others. Her servant’s heart, coupled with more than 25 years of leadership experience, made our Board’s decision an easy one.
Thank you, Denise, for your willingness to serve Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee as our interim leader!
I’m also pleased to share we have successfully formed a Search Committee to identify a permanent CEO. This committee and our entire Board are committed to hiring a dynamic leader who will build on our successes and ensure our incredible cancer-support programs are available and accessible throughout Middle Tennessee. Resumes are being accepted through July 8; details can be found here. Please help us spread the word about this great opportunity!
Lastly, I’d like to thank Sandy Obodzinski again for her great work the last three years. Under Sandy’s guidance, Gilda’s Club Nashville is now Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee. The opening of our first satellite location in Williamson County last year has been very well received in that community. Our brand is stronger, our friend network is expanding, and we have added several highly talented staff. We truly wish Sandy the very best in her pursuits. Yesterday, our staff, board and key stakeholders gathered to celebrate Sandy and her accomplishments, and to wish her farewell. She’s a class act who has positively impacted thousands during her tenure.
It remains an exciting time to be a part of Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee. We are thankful to each of you for your support and always mindful of our mutual bond to ensure no one has to face cancer alone.
