Note: Unless noted otherwise, all virtual classes, workshops and lectures require registration, preferably at least 24 hours in advance. Register via the MindBody app, or by emailing RSVP@gildasclubmiddletn.org or calling us at 615-329-1124 (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.). We will then send you the easy instructions to participate via ZOOM. All you need is a camera-enabled smart phone, tablet or computer and a relatively quiet environment.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 21

9:30-10:15 a.m.: Moment of Meditation with Savanna Starko, PhD. -  Find a comfortable seat and join us as we set aside time to rest and re-center through a 15-minute guided meditation.  Release what no longer serves you.  Invite what makes you feel whole and complete into your day-to-day life, especially during trying times.  No experience or props are required.  After the guided portion, space will be available to share what's on your heart from the meditation.

10-10:30 a.m.: Pilates with Amy Butler -  Enjoy the balancing effects of this mat class that focuses on the gentle strenthening and stretching. Have a mat and towel handy.

6-8 p.m.: Young Adults with Cancer: Ages 18-22 with Megan Ingram Forshey, LCSW - Join other young adults for some virtual connection and support (and ideas about what to watch on Netflix) as we all navigate this challenging time together.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22

10-11 a.m.: Guided Imagery with Claudia Prange - Practice techniques that encourage emotional balance. Helpful in managing stress, anxiety, and pain.

6-7:30 p.m.: Parent's Group with Dana Davis, LCSW and Lanier Sachs, M.Ed., NCC - An opportunity for parents to connect with other adults who have cancer in their family.

6:30-8 p.m.: Life After Loss with Warren Thompson, PhD - For adults who have experienced a loss due to cancer in the last year. A commitment to the full six-week series is required.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23

1-2 p.m.: Yoga with Leslie Welch, RYT200 - Connect breath with movement in this vinyasa style practice. All levels welcome.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24

11 a.m.- noon: Ask the Psychologist: Recognizing Anxiety with Brynda Quinn, PhD - Anxiety is a master of disguise, taking many different forms in different people and at different times. Learn to recognize it when it shows up and some techniques to tame it. This new monthly topic-based series will include 15 minutes of Q&A time concerning the topic or any other questions about mental and emotional health.

1-2 p.m.: Leaf Relief with Barb Kane - Make a beautiful art piece ready for framing using a simple process and things you have around your house/yard. You'll need cardboard (approximately 5 x 7 or 8 x 10), leaves with veins, acrylic paint (any 2-3 colors), paper towel, scissors, tape, and aluminum foil (heavy duty works well).

4:30-6:30 p.m.: Family Night: Kids and Teens with Megan Ingram Forshey, LCSW -

Ages twelve and under meet at 4:30 and teens meet at 5:30 for a chance to connect, laugh, and just have fun.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25

10-11 a.m.: Tai Chi with Chip Forrester - Join us for this moving meditation, where we’ll move with awareness and gently reawaken the life force.

11 a.m.-noon: What Feeds You Alumni with Danielle Gilbert - Open to anyone who has completed the What Feeds You series.

11-12:30 p.m.: Prostate Cancer Group with Dawson Wells, LMSW - Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee’s Prostate Cancer Group is for men at any age and stage of prostate cancer – from newly diagnosed to advanced stage to survivorship. This group exists to create opportunities for people with like diagnoses to come together for community and support; to facilitate learning on diagnosis-specific topics; and to build awareness of resources.
